"Jesus never meant to establish a physical church." "Where does the Bible say to confess sins to a priest?"
If you have ever spent any time conversing with Fundamentalists about religion, these and other questions are sure to have cropped up.
If you have ever been at a loss for answers, here is a good first step in finding some of those answers.
Fr. Nevins selects several of the most common points of attack and groups them into chapters such as "The Papacy" and "Purgatory".
Each chapter begins with a common misconception about a Catholic belief or a common argument against Catholic beliefs. The rest of the chapter
is spent showing that the Catholic belief is actually based on scripture.
That being said, the book makes frequent use of scripture to defend each point and the answers are quite clear. This book is
a very good starting point for those who wish to learn more about apologetics and perhaps correct any misconceptions of their own faith.
