Daily Mass

One of the recent popes has said: "If we really understood the Mass, we would be there every morning." How true it is: blessed are those with enough common sense and time to participate in daily Mass, to receive daily the Lord''s Body and Blood for strengthening their souls.
The Lectionary and the Missal make weekday Mass a daily lesson in the Scriptures and in the liturgical treasures of the Church. Therefore a weekday hand Missal is especially recommended for those attending daily Mass.
There are two readings for weekday Masses. The Gospel, a continuous reading, is carefully chosen to harmonize with the Sunday Gospels. The first reading is also continuous, and takes us through a two year journey of the entire Bible. And these weekday Masses will acquaint us with the rich variety now in the liturgy the occasional memorials or feasts of saints, the various votive Masses and prayers of the faithful, the brief homilies, the shifting moods and feelings and understandings. All this makes possible a constant variety in the weekday liturgies a variety that opens up the entire Bible and the fullness of our liturgy. This makes for a Catholic life strengthened each day by God''s Word, by the Lord's Blessed Sacrament and the Church''s beautiful liturgy.
