English, use of in the 1962 Missal

Question Can the Tridentine Mass be offered in the vernacular?

Answer According to Quattuor abhinc annos issued in 1984, "The celebration is to follow the Roman Missal of 1962 and must be in Latin.". While many of the restrictions placed on the practice of the Tridentine Mass have been lifted, there has been no permission given to vernacularize the Mass.

Personally, I am very glad. The ICEL English versions of Latin texts for the sacraments are devoid of beauty and often mistate the official Latin text.
